How to Optimize for Google SGE (Search Generative Experience)

Samuel Aondo

Google's Search Generative Experience (SGE) is transforming the SERP. The "10 blue links" are being pushed down by an AI-generated snapshot that synthesizes the answer directly.

How to Appear in the Snapshot

Our research shows that SGE favors content that is:

  1. Direct and Concise: Get to the point immediately. The "BLUF" (Bottom Line Up Front) method works well.
  2. Highly Visual: SGE snapshots often include images. Ensure your images have descriptive alt text and relevant surrounding text.
  3. Corroborated: Information that appears on multiple reputable sites is more likely to be synthesized.

Ranking in SGE is about being the source of truth that Google's AI trusts enough to summarize.
